Irina and Yuri Tolkalin,  pyrography; painting on wood,  Moscow
    Irina says-

I always liked to do something from a variety of materials. From the very childhood I was in all circles of children's art. And moulding worked, and straw, and embroidery ...

I always liked to paint and after school I studied for some time (not able to finish, so a life) in National University of Arts in the Faculty of Easel paintings. It is the only one, where I studied. And beyond just myself.

Continued to deal with different areas of applied arts. Later engaged in woodcarving. And then remembered the children's circles of pyrography, and I started to do poker-work.

That was 20 years ago. And gradually my own style of pyrography formed , combined with painting on wood. And 15 years ago I found the main theme - Russian wooden architecture. Now I am doing scenes only in this style. Pyrography has been my main life-work. I really love my job, love to explore new ideas ...

    Tatyana Koozina,  Tapestry ,  Penza
Tatyana Koozina, textile artist specializing in tapestries.

She graduated from the Department of Applied Arts at Penza Polytechnical College. Tatyana has been hand-weaving since 1990 and, during this time, has created many works which are now adorning private homes around the world. She considers herself a representative of the modern school, primarily influenced by the abstract works of the Baltic masters.

Tapestry bags are yet another field of activity for a textile artist. Tatyana discovered it when she herself was in need of a bag! She decided to try and weave one and her attempt was an unqualified success. Since then, she has created several dozen bags in ethnic style, using only natural materials such as flax, wool and cotton, and beads for decoration. Many of these have subsequently been sold or given as gifts. Like the wall-hangings, Tatyana's bags have found owners around the world.

Victor Ivanov,  oil painting; painting on birch bark ,  Tarusa
    Victor says-

I hail from Kaluga. I graduated from the Moscow People's University of Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, department of easel paintings and graphics. And also the Literary Institute of A.M. Gorky, department of poetry. Member of the Writers' Union of Russia. In my paintings, executed in oil on canvas, I am trying to reflect the old Tarusa, Kaluga, Russian North. I try myself in different directions.

My works on the bark made by tempera went out over the world. I want to convey the beauty of good Russian outback, spiritual contact people with nature. This is assisted me close to my heart and lovely cities on the Oka river - Kaluga and Tarusa, where I regained faith, hope and love. This is reflected in my songs and paintings. In houses and churches from my birch works everywhere shine windows waiting meetings. And you this is true feel, looking at my little Opening Day. Currently I live in Tarusa, do the guitar course with children in the children's art study group. I remain with hope to be heard and understood by you.
